I-80/Brisbin Road Interchange Under Construction!!

After an initiative more than a decade in the making, the official groundbreaking ceremony for the Brisbin Road interchange on Interstate 80 took place in Grundy County in March.

The Brisbin Road interchange is located midway between the Morris (exit #112) and Minooka (exit #122) interchanges along I-80.   The Brisbin exit will serve the heart of Grundy County’s industrial corridor and open an additional 12,000 acres surrounding the interchange for future development.

The new interchange has already attracted the attention of the development community and will serve existing large industrial clients such as A&R Logistics, Akzo Nobel, Aux Sable Liquid Products, and LyondellBasell.

The project which is scheduled to be completed by year end 2012, calls for a new bridge placement on Brisbin Road and a full intersection to be constructed at Brisbin Road and U.S. Route 6.

The Brisbin Road interchange project was funded by the State of Illinois Capital Bill.  On September 17, 2010 “D” Construction of Coal City secured the project with a bid of $19 million.
